The story
The South African football fraternity was at a standstill when it was revealed that Lucas Ribeiro is fighting to have his contract with the Brazilians terminated by taking the matter to the FIFA Football Tribunal.
Ribeiro has been the subject of interest from several clubs abroad and had been reported to be close to sealing a deal with Qatar SC in Qatar, before the deal reportedly fell through.
The 26-year-old Betway Premiership Player of the Season is yet to feature for the Tshwane giants this season, having last featured for Masandawana at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Although it came as a shock to some of the Yellow Nation that the relationship between the player and the club had broken down and appears irreparable, Ribeiro's last Instagram post came after his PSL Awards sweep.
To several fans online at the time, Ribeiro's post came across as a farewell message and with recent developments, it could just have been the Brazilian's way of saying goodbye to Ka Bo Yellow.
