What's the story?

The Motsepe Foundation Championship club Milford FC offered the upset of the weekend as they knocked out Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup.

Milford's chairman and head coach, who helped mastermind the shock result, happens to be a medical practitioner and it got Mzansi's most passionate football fans talking on social media.

Milford FC's boss draws online buzz

Ten-man Milford FC knocked out Kaizer Chiefs in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup with a 5-4 win on penalties after a 0-0 draw over 120 minutes at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.

The struggling Motsepe Foundation Championship club are a full 22 places below the Amakhosi on the league ladder, just one point above the relegation zone in their division.

They frustrated the Soweto giants through two hours of football, finishing the game short, while goalkeeper Siphamandla Hleza's Man of the Match performance helped them over the line.

Plenty of focus on Twitter/X has turned to Milford FC chairman and coach Dr. Xanti Pupuma, who is said to be a Gynaecologist.

Dr. Pupuma grew up a Kaizer Chiefs supporter before changing loyalties when he and his family founded Milford FC. His team's achievement was heavily spoken about online, with fans relishing this Nedbank Cup miracle:
