The story
After earning his first start and goal for Masandawana, young defender Malibongwe Khoza shared his views about a memorable outing in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL).
Mamelodi Sundowns secured their 10th consecutive appearance in the CAFCL group phase by defeating Mbabane Swallows 4-0 once again at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
Despite fielding a weakened starting lineup on Saturday, Sundowns proved to be overwhelmingly dominant against the Eswatini side, achieving an impressive 8-0 aggregate victory overall.
Khoza took his rare starting opportunity with both hands by not only keeping a clean sheet, but also with a towering header on the hour mark for Manqoba Mngqithi's outfit.
"The first half of the game was a bit difficult because we were playing against the wind. Most of us were playing with each other for the first time, so the combination play was difficult.
"But as the game went on, we were able to put some touches together and score goals," noted Khoza, who also shared some insight into his personality and how he found the pace of the game.
"I'm more of a quiet person, I'm a bit shy and it forces me to use my voice on the pitch. The pace of the game was quick so I must adapt," he added.
