The story

Seasoned campaigner, Kermit Erasmus recently parted ways with Orlando Pirates after two seasons in his second tenure at the Soweto giants.

The 33-year-old returned to the Sea Robbers in 2022, rejoining them after a successful two-year stint at Mamelodi Sundowns, during which he clinched two league titles and one MTN8 trophy at Chloorkop.

The forward enjoyed a trophy lade second stint with Bucs, securing four trophies, including two Nedbank Cups and two MTN8 titles.

During his first season back in the black and white jersey, the former Bafana forward made 35 appearances and bagged 10 goals. However, his playing time decreased in the second season with Bucs, featuring in only 11 matches in the 2023/24 campaign.

Erasmus, who ventured to Europe from an early age, featuring for French Ligue 1 sides RC Lens and Stade Rennais, as well as Dutch giants Feyenoord and for Vitoria Setubal in Portugal, is gearing up for the upcoming season with what he hopes will be a PSL club after reportedly preferring to stay in Mzansi over moving potentially going to Asia or Australia.

'Romeo' has been put through his paces by personal strength and conditioning trainer, Vusi Mavreka 'Black Vreka' Hlabangwana, who has worked with a host of PSL stars, including Themba Zwane, Itumeleng Khune, Phillip Ndlondlo, Mduduzi Shabalala, Mfundo Vilakazi and Andile Mpisane.
