The story

On Thursday morning, the Soweto giants, together with the Rhiza Babuyile Foundation and the Johan Cruyff Foundation, launched a new community social initiative in Orange Farm.

The project included the opening of a state-of-the-art five-a-side pitch and the establishment of a water purification and distribution center for the local residents.

The club took to Twitter/X and Instagram to share a gallery of the event, which saw Inacio Miguel officially open the fives pitch with a ceremonial penalty kick.

Miguel was joined by ex-Chiefs defender, Morgan Gould and teammates, George Matlou, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edmilson Dove and Bongani Sam at the event.

"It's good to participate in these kinds of projects. We are pleased to be part of assisting people holistically in a sporting way and ensuring they can have access to clean water," noted the Angolan international in a press release published on Chiefs' website.

Gould, who spent five years at the Glamour Boys winning two league titles in the process, fully backs these type of community-focused initiatives.

"We need to help build dreams and with this new field and the water project, we are able to see the fulfilment of young kids dreams of being able to express themselves and have a place to play," said Gould in quotes shared on the club's website, adding:

"And it also helps other community members to continue farming, so it's always a blessing to contribute to communities in a positive way."
