The story
Durban City FC (formerly Maritzburg United) are gearing up for their return to South Africa's top flight and has secured an exciting brand partnership.
Veteran coach Gavin Hunt and the rest of his technical team were handed the keys to a fleet of BMW rides, courtesy of the club's new vehicle partners, Supertech Group.
Described as a "World-class Luxury Dealership and Lifestyle Group" on its website, Supertech Group owns several car dealerships in KwaZulu-Natal, including a BMW Pinetown, a BMW Newcastle and a BMW Durban South, with the group's partnership with Durban City being unveiled at the Durban South dealership.
"As part of the agreement, the Supertech Group will supply a fleet of premium vehicles to support the club's transport and operational needs, whilst jointly engaging in marketing and community development initiatives," read parts of Durban City's statement on their partnership with Supertech.
This partnership will also include branded marketing campaigns and fan activations, with visible branding to be displayed on matchdays, the club’s facilities and of course, the vehicles.
Coach Gavin Hunt and club chairman Farook Kadodia were pictured alongside a stunning collection of white BMW rides – such as the BMW 1 series F70, the BMW 2 series F74 and the BMW 3 series G20.
The 1 series F70 is valued at R 982 767 as per Auto Trader, while the second generation of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé costs around R733 559 according to Cars.co.za.
