The story
Sundowns reclaimed the top spot in the Betway Premiership with a well-earned 2-1 victory over Royal AM at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday night.
Goals came curtesy of Mkhulise and Khuliso Mudau in each half ensured that Manqoba Mngqithi's team maintained their flawless start, with 'Sailor' Mudau walking away with the Man of the Match award.
The award could have gone to either one of the goal scorers on the night, as 'The Blesser' enjoyed a comfortable outing in the middle of the park before being replaced by Bathusi Aubaas in the 87th minute.
Mkhulise's early goal against Royal AM was his third goal in competitions so far this season, which a better return for the 28-year-old who failed to register a goal last season.
There are likely many reasons for Mkhulise's improved performances this season, one of them could be his work with strength and conditioning coach, Vusi Mavreka Hlabangwana.
The esteemed trainer, who's worked with Themba Zwane, Gaston Sirino, Itumeleng Khune and Andile Mpisane among other major PSL names, posted a video of the extra preparation Mkhulise has undergone to prepare for this season.
