Chiefs To Go All The Way This Season?

Chiefs To Go All The Way This Season?

There is something about this Kaizer Chiefs side that looks more convincing than they have in recent years, but are their recent acquisitions and performances proof they have what it takes to clinch the league title?

It's been almost three agonising years since Chiefs has won any major silverware, and the shine of their black and gold appears to dim more with each passing season. However, there is something about the way they have asserted themselves this season that may indicate that this campaign may just be the one that puts their woeful trophy drought behind them.

Few clubs have been as busy as Amakhosi during this transfer window. With three marquee signings in Leonardo Castro, Siphelele Ntshangase and Kabelo Mahlasela, the club has made their ambition clear, and are willing to put their money where their mouth is.

Although they started 2018 with a draw, they have since come right by winning their past two fixtures, and their most recent game, perhaps more than the others, demonstrated their mentality as a squad to overcome adversity and seal victory.

They were down to 10 men, after Joseph Molangoane's senseless elbowing of Khutso Mohwatseleng saw him receive his marching orders. Yet, despite being a man down, Chiefs were able to maintain their composure and not concede goal, but instead score one themselves thanks to an incredible strike from new attacker Castro.

There is also something to be said about the confidence and swagger the Glamour Boys seem to be playing with that suggests they may be on their way back to their best.

Do you think Chiefs can claim some major silverware this season?
