Moon looks back on Greece

Former Panathinaikos, Ajax Cape Town, Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Bryce Moon got nostalgic by speaking about his incredible time in Greece.

The 36-year-old may have spent a brief period in his career at the Greek giants but he carries lifelong memories from his stint, including a memorable match against Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan, where he struck the crossbar twice.

Speaking to The Load Shed Podcast, Moon shared memories of facing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and receiving praise from Mourinho:

"It was an amazing game," recounted Moon who added what stood out from his best Champions League showing:

"Definitely being Man of the Match was the highlight, a lot of other highlights came from being there and being recognised by Jose because that was our home game and the next game, in his pre-match interview, he was like 'You've got to watch Bryce Moon', so it was good to have left such an impact," he says.

Moon also mentioned that Panathinaikos' home ground at the time is the best arena he's ever played in:

"I played in a lot of stadiums but I will say my home team Panathinaikos' OAKA Stadium, because, of the vibe. I haven't experienced it in any other stadium.

"95 000 people, only green," added Moon who delved into the rivalry between Greek giants Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.

The KwaZulu Natal-born defender remembered how dedicated the supporters at Panathinaikos were, recollecting how they'd be 30 000 fans waiting for them at the airport after a European away day.

Moon also revealed how he got scouted by the Greek outfit through the help of Nasief Morris, who captained the side at the time, check out the rest of his interview:
