What's the story?

After initially naming a 34-man squad for next month's world cup qualifiers against Ethiopia, coach Broos has now named his final group of players for the upcoming matches.

Bafana currently leads the way in group C and face Ethiopia in back-to-back games in October, as Mzansi look to solidify their spot at the top of the table with maximum points.

 New Faces

The team Broos initially named, the likes of Terrence Mashego, Vusi Sibiya, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Jesse Donn, Thabani Zuke and Luke Fleurs was penned down as new faces, however, Mdantsane, Sibiya and Fleurs did not make the final cut.

Reactions on social media occurred when fans debated his selections, namely at left-back, with Mamelodi Sundowns star Lyle Lakay being one of the most talked-about players during this time.

Positional Concerns

Fans felt that Lakay is currently among the best full-backs in the land but that he is also continuously overlooked at the national level.

This time around, certain discussions about the left-back and also midfield positions arose with supporters looking to make sense about Broos and his technical team's selections.

Here are some of the reactions:
