The story
It was purely joyous scenes after South Africa edged Nigeria 1-0 in a tense semifinal clash at the Suez Canal Stadium on Thursday to book a place in the final of the CAF U20 AFCON in Egypt.
A well-placed header by Tylon Smith, from a Neo Rapoo cross in the 66th minute proved to be the decisive moment in a fiercely contested match between two of Africa's traditional football powerhouses.
This victory also gives them momentum as they head into the final against Morocco, having now gone five matches unbeaten, setting a record for their longest streak in U20 AFCON history.
With this win, South Africa has reached their second U20 AFCON final, their first since 1997, when they finished as runners-up.
After the encounter, Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi, entered the pitch to show love by congratulating the Amajita stars, despite them knocking out his countrymen.
