Stellenbosch 1-0 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates' ten-game unbeaten run in the DStv Diski Challenge was ended by Stellenbosch in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday afternoon at Idas Valley Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Thulani Mini eventually broke the deadlock for Stellies seven minutes from the break with a strike in the box after eliminating three Pirates defenders.

The game was end to end stuff towards the end, with the Buccaneers goalkeeper Zoey Monyepao pulling off great saves but Pirates were wasteful with their chances.

The Cape Winelands outfit finished the game with ten men after Jayden Trent was red-carded for serious foul play as Pirates' ten-game unbeaten run came to an end.

Joseph Makhanya's charges held on to top spot by virtue of a superior goal difference, as Stellies caught up with them on 32 points in second place.

AmaZulu 1-3 Chippa United

AmaZulu were without head coach Reneilwe Letsholonyane after going down 3-1 against Chippa United on Saturday afternoon at Idas Valley Stadium.

Asanele Bonani opened the scoring for Chippa in the first eight minutes with a strike from the edge of the box after he was set up by Kayden Francis.

Awonke Ngadlela doubled the lead for the Chilli Boys four minutes later after another assist by Francis.

Luzuko Ngqina made it 3-0 for United on the stroke of half-time with a free header.

Usuthu pulled a goal back eight minutes into the second stanza from the penalty spot.

AmaZulu lost their eighth game in a row.

Golden Arrows 4-2 Sekhukhune United

Golden Arrows won their first game of the new year after thrashing Sekhukhune United 4-2 thanks to a brace by Samukeke Mlaba on Saturday morning at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Zuma got the opener for Arrows on 12 minutes and Mlaba gave them a two-goal cushion on the stroke of half-time.

Kabelo Ngobeni reduced the deficit for Sekhukhune five minutes into the second stanza and levelled matters on the hour-mark, as he also completed his brace.

However, Mlaba gave Abafana Bes'thende the lead with 20 minutes to go and grabbed his brace and Siyanda Mthanti put the game to bed nine minutes before time.
