Downs & Man Utd: In Action On DStv!

The world's biggest soccer leagues get underway this August, while Mamelodi Sundowns are in cup action. Now is the time to get DStv and catch ALL the FootbALL action!

Football is back – and the very best soccer leagues from around the world will kick off this August with all the action available on the World of Champions, SuperSport. From the football fans being locked-in to speculation from the start of the transfer window, the pre-season curtain raiser tournaments to the kick-off of the first games – this promises to be a season like no other.

DStv subscribers can catch all the action from their favourite leagues – the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A as well as the domestic league, the Betway Premiership, on SuperSport.

The Premier League will kick off with Manchester United sensation Kobbie Mainoo in action against a Fulham side that has bolstered its attack with the signing of former Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe. But all eyes will be on Premier League player of the season Phil Foden on Sunday when Manchester City begins to mount the defense of the Premier League title against Chelsea, who will look to Cole Palmer, a nominee for the PFA Young Player of the Season, to kick-off their season with a win at Stamford Bridge.

DStv Access customers can look forward to seeing Euro 2024 history-making 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal attempt to return Barcelona to their glory days when La Liga kicks off on 15 August. Yamal and his teammates will be faced with a new challenge following the signing of French forward Kylian Mbappé by their bitter rivals Real Madrid, who will be looking to defend their coveted league title once again.

Locally, historic dynasties have come to define the era of the best leagues your Home of Sport has to offer. Mamelodi Sundowns, winners of seven league titles in a row will be faced with a new challenge following recent changes to their coaching staff with the return of coach Steve Komphela.

Die-hard fans will be glued to their screens as Jose Riveiro's Orlando Pirates and Nedbank Cup Final teenage sensation Relebogile Mofokeng look to usurp Masandawana when the Betway Premier League gets underway a matter of weeks from now.

Says SuperSport CEO Rendani Ramovha, "The New Football Season is back and with the rise of a new class of superstars, the World of Champions has a treat in store for football lovers. We're bringing FootbALL and that means our viewers can brace themselves to witness world-class coverage from the best the world has to offer. Stay connected to ensure that you don't miss out!"
