Platinum Stars Are Still Confident Of Progressing In The CAF CC
Platinum Stars may have only picked up one point from their first three CAF Confederation Cup group games, but they haven't given up hope of progressing just yet.   Read: SuperSport Attacker Ruled Out   Dikwena drew their opening game at home against MC Alger last month before losing consecutive away games against Mbabane Swallows and CS Sfaxien.   The 3-0 defeat in Tunisia was Cavin Johnson's final game in charge at the club before being told he would not be having his contract renewed, with Willem Jackson and Alan Clark taking over until Peter Butler starts work on July 1st.   Stars take on Sfaxien at home tomorrow evening as they look to keep their dreams of the knockout stages alive, however, anything less than a victory would all but seal their fate.   Sipho Senne, who played more CAF minutes than PSL ones in 2016/17, says they still believe they can keep going.   He told the club's official website, "We haven't lost hope and focus. Our minds are on winning the game. If we win on Wednesday, we will still have a chance to progress in the competition. We are playing the number one team which has just six points. A win will do us good.    "We are hungry for a win. We know that it's not going to be easy. We have to attack. We are not going to defend at home. We can't give them a chance. In Tunisia, we panicked a bit. We can't afford to make the same mistakes at home. I am confident that we can win the game."    Stars face Sfaxien at 19h00 tomorrow night.    Find all updates on the latest rumours and confirmed deals in our Transfer Centre!
