CAF Champions League winner and former Orlando Pirates defender, Gavin Lane has informed the Siya crew that Eric Tinkler's leadership skills as a coach will be the key in Bucs' CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Bucs Legend: Don't judge Tinkler without knowing his mandate
'Stability Unit' hailed Tinkler's leadership qualities, citing them to be a key in the Buccaneers' success ahead of the first leg play-off tie against AS Kaloum Star.
"You can always tell a good coach by the way a team plays. If you look at the way Pirates are playing it's clear to see there is a good leadership amongst the players," said Lane to the Siya crew.
"Tinkler is a great leader and he will need to be at his best when they play against Kaloum. The test for any coach comes in such games when you are playing away from home and don't have the backing of your supporters."
"This is when the players only have each other as well as the coach for support. He (Tinkler) has done extremely well since being the coach. I don't see the logic of appointing anyone else who still needs to start over and form a bond with the players," concluded the Bucs legend.
