"It was a professional application, we had three weeks between the two legs, the league is finish, all the other teams are on holiday and to keep the boys motivated it hasn't been an easy task," Tinkler said after the game.
"Credit to all of them, they've been very professional in terms of their application and the way we started the game was very important, because as I stated before they are a very dangerous team going forward.
"We know they've got weaknesses in defence but we needed to keep a clean sheet, disappointed with the second half, conceding the goal from the corner, that's been our Achilles heel this season and that is something we need to rectify."
Tinkler added that the player will get a week's rest before preparations begin for the group stages.
"These deserve to get a bit of break now, so they are going to be off for a week, then we will have just over two weeks in preparation for the first group stage match," he added.
"Now we possibly going to be playing against AC Leopards, looks like that will be our first away trip and try and reap some revenge on them, after losing in the Champions League, so this was the objective, you play Zamalek, CS Sfaxien, Champions League teams and that's where we want to be."
