CAF Confederation Cup

Soccer Laduma takes a look at the final round of CAF Confederation Cup games which took place on Sunday and saw 17 goals scored.   Read: Pirates' CAF Journey Ended In Guinea   Group A:   Moroccan duo of Berkane and Hassania Agadir both progressed into the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after their final group games on Sunday.   Despite losing 1-0 away from home to Hassania Agadir courtesy of a goal from Youssef Alfahli, Berkane still finished top of Group A with 11 points which is three more than their second-placed countrymen.   Morocco's Raja Casablanca did put up an impressive performance in their last group game with a 4-1 thumping of Congo's Otoho D'Oyo, but it was not enough to secure them qualification.   Raja finished third in the group with seven points while Otoho were last with five points.   Raja's goals on the day were scored by Mahmoud Benhalib, Sanad Msoud, Ayoub Nanah and Mouhssine Yajour.   Group B:   Tunisia's CS Sfaxien finished top of Group B in the CAF Confederations Cup with a 1-0 win over Nigeria's Enugu Rangers.   The game's only goal came courtesy of a strike from Nadhir Korichi which saw Sfaxien register their third win as they top Group B with 12 points and head into the quarter-finals with confidence.    Tunisia's Etoile Sahel finished second on the standings with their slender 1-0 win over Burkina Faso's Salitas in their match on Sunday with the only goal coming form the boot of Mohamed Ben Larbi.   Sahel are second with ten points and qualify for the quarter-finals while Rangers and Salitas exit the competition.
Group C   Sudan's Al-Hilal Omdurman beat Zambia's Nkana 4-1 on Sunday to finish top of Group C in the CAF Confederation Cup.   Goals from Sharaf Abdelrahman, Waleed Hamid (a brace) and Idris Mbombo handed Al-Hilala the victory that saw them finish on 11 points atop the group, two ahead of second-placed Nkana who also qualified for the quarter-finals despite the loss.   The other Group C match on Sunday saw Zambia's Zesco beat Ghana's Asante Kotoko 2-1 with both sides exiting the competition. Kotoko and Zesco are third and fourth respectively with seven points apiece.   Group D   Egypt's Zamalek finished top of Group D following their goalless draw with Algeria's Hussein Dey while a nine-man Gor Mahia side beat Angola's Petro du Luanda 2-1 to sneak into the quarter-finals.   The result saw Gor Mahia finish second in Group D with nine points, tie on points with first-placed Zamalek.   The loss for Petro du Luanda signals the end of the competition for the Angolan side who finish bottom of Group D with eight points while Hussein Dey are third with seven points.
