CAF Confederation Cup Result: Ajax Cape Town 0-2 Sagrada Esperanca (2-3 on aggregate) Date: 27 February 2016 Venue: Athlone Stadium Ajax Cape Town's CAF Confederation Cup campaign came to an end after they lost 3-2 on aggregate to Sagrada Esperanca. The hosts nearly found themselves a goal down after five minutes, but Petersen was on hand to make the save, after an error in defence. The visitors managed to take the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a strike from Arsenio Cabungula to make it 2-2 on aggregate. The Urban Warriors look to hit back in the 30th minute through Tariq Losper but the midfielder's powerful strike was saved by the Sagrada goalkeeper. Ajax pushed for an equaliser but were unable to create clear-cut openings, as they went into the halftime break trailing. Roger De Sa opted to change things in the second half, as he introduced Rivaldo Coetzee for Ruzaig Gamildien. After a quiet spell in the half, Ajax nearly leveled matters in the 84th minute but Bantu Mzwakali headed over from close range. However, the visitors sealed the win in the 90th minute, as Cabungula grabbed his second of the game to dump Ajax out of the Confederation Cup.
