Brighton Mhlongo Wary Of Complacency Against Kaloum In CAF Tie

Orlando Pirates' number one goalkeeper, Brighton Mhlongo has admitted that his side's second leg CAF Confederation Cup tie against AS Kaloum will be no easy feat, despite taking a two-goal aggregate lead into Saturday's clash.

Pirates set for Group stages

The lanky keeper informed his club's official website that he along with his teammates will be wary of any complacency which could creep as a result of the two-goal advantage.

"Everyone is excited to be playing in this tournament and we don't mind that we are playing during the off-season either. This is what it takes to play at a big club that has massive ambitions; there is no calendar when it comes to achieving," said Mhlongo.

"AS Kaloum is a very good team and two goals is still slender these days. If they score one, then they are back in the game and that can change things."

"We need to apply ourselves like we did in the away match where they came hard at us and we kept them at bay. It is going to be a tough match but we need to start well."

The 24-year-old Soweto-born shot stopper further noted he did not have a problem playing the game at the Bidvest Stadium, in light of Bucs' home venue, the Orlando Stadium currently undergoing renovations.

"The important thing for us is that we are playing in a continental tournament, representing our country and we appreciate the support we get from our country, which is why playing at Bidvest is not a problem. We can just as easily play anywhere in the country and it will still be a Pirates home game," he concluded.

The match starts at 15h00.
