Former Orlando Pirates player and 1995 CAF Champions League winner, Edward "Magents" Motale, believes that the Northern African dominance in continental competition is over.
Absa Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, overcame Egyptian giants Zamalek in Cairo last weekend, which has indicated a power shift in the CAF Champions League, which Pitso Mosimane pointed out in an interview this week.

Now Motale, a former winner of the tournament, has weighed in on the topic.
"I guess there has been a shift in the power dynamic in the CAF," he remarked. "Because if Sundowns can beat Zamalek in Egypt, it shows."

The Pirates legend went on to say that the days of travelling to the other side of the continent and expecting to lose are now a thing of the past.
"There's no more Northern African dominance. It's not like if you go to Nigeria, or Egypt or Algeria, you won't come back (victorious)," he concluded.
