Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs are now in the last eight of the CAF Champions League and await the draw later this month to discover thier quarterfinals opponents.
Sundowns won their group at a canter to seal their qualification with two games to spare, while Amakhosi had to twice come from behind in thier 2-2 draw away to Horoya on Saturday to book thier ticket.
The format for the last eight hasn't really changed since it was revisited several years ago with the introduction of four groups instead of just the two, meaning from the 2017 edition the tournament was expanded from eight to 16 teams in the group stages phase.
Now, with the same layout it's expected that the quarterfinal draw will be held on April 30 to pair the eight remaining teams – and both Sundowns and Chiefs are among them.

- In the draw for the quarter-finals, the four group winners are seeded, and the four group runners-up are unseeded.
- The seeded teams are drawn against the unseeded teams, with the seeded teams hosting the second leg.
- Teams from the same group cannot be drawn against each other, while teams from the same association can be drawn against each other.
- In the draws for semi-finals, there are no seedings, and teams from the same group or the same association can be drawn against each other.
- As the draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals are held together before the quarter-finals are played, the identity of the quarter-final winners is not known at the time of the semi-final draw.
Sundowns will be seeded having finished top of their group, so there's a possiblity they could face Chiefs.
