Mamelodi Sundows failed to qualify for the CAF Champions League final after only managing a goalless draw against Wydad Casablanca in the second leg of their semi-final.

The Brazilians came into the encounter having suffered a 2-1 defeat in the first leg, and were looking to get off to fast start to silence the visitors.   The home side took control from the onset, although the visitors gave Gaston Sirino some rough treatment early on as Downs pushed for the opener.   Denis Onyango, who had a monster performance in the first leg, was called upon after 25 minutes to pull produce a fine save as the visitors looked to snatch a goal on the counter-attack.   Seven minutes before the break, Sundowns had a set-piece opportunity in a promising position. Sirino managed to pick out Anele Ngconcga, who could only steer his effort wide of the mark.

Wydad were quite content to sit back and soak up the pressure, although they had only one meaningful effort on target to show for the counter-attacking.
The first chance of the second half fell to the visitors after  the hour mark when Michael Babatunde turned inside the box, however Mosa Lebusa produced a fine block to deny the Nigerian striker a clear sight at goal   With 20 minutes to go, Pitso Mosimane threw on Phakamani Mahlambi and withdrew Tiyani Mabunda as they went in search of an opening goal in the second leg.   Onyango came to Sundowns' rescue once again with 11 minutes remaining as the Ugandan rushed off his line to deny Babatunde in the box.   Sundowns threw everything forward in search of a vital goal in the latter stages of the second half, but Wydad were well drilled and denied the hosts at every attempt.
  Here's how they lined up:

Sundowns: Onyango, Ngcongca (Vilakazi 63'), Nascimento, Lebusa, Langerman, Mabunda (Mahlambi 69'), Kekana, Morena, Zwane, Sirino, Maboe (Lakay 84').   Subs: Mweene, Arendse, Vilakazi, Lakay, Tade, Mahlambi, Coetzee.
