The Brazilians conjured up the first real opportunity in the 13th minute when Tebogo Langerman produced a curling free kick from the left that picked out Thabo Nthethe, but the centre-back's header was blocked. Moments later it was Enyimba who were on the attack. Onuigbo made his presence felt as he forced Wayne Sandilands into a strong save. The ball came back to the visitors, but Onuigbo couldn't direct his header on target. Pitso Mosimane's charges enjoyed some good spells in the Enyimba third of the pitch towards the end of the half, and finally found their opener in the 42nd minute as Leonardo Castro bundled home a loose ball following a cross from Keagan Dolly.
