It's been a tough group stage for Gavin Hunt's side as they went three games without scoring and lost two of their opening four games, with this weekend's 2-1 defeat to Horoya AC in Conakry proving to be the final nail in their coffin.
It was not a good day at the office for Wits as a mistake allowed Dramane Nikièma to open the scoring early in the game, while Lehlohonolo Nonyane's first-half sending off shortly after Hotto's impressive equaliser made things even harder.
Boniface Haba's goal in the second stanza sealed three points for the Guinean side as they managed to maintain their place at the top of Group C and book their spot the knockout stages of the competition, while Al-Nasr of Libya also progressed in second.

It means that the final game for Wits against Djoliba of Mali is a dead rubber for both sides having failed to reach the group stages, with Hunt likely to give a runout to some of his fringe players as he turns his focus to the Absa Premiership once again.
