Mamelodi Sundowns legend and 2001 CAF Champions League finalist, Alex Bapela, believes that the continental competition is now in The Brazilians' hands.

Bapela was part of the Sundowns team that finished runners-up to Al Ahly in the 2001 edition of the tournament and has now said that the Brazilians have a very good chance of becoming the first South African club to lift the trophy since 1995.
"Anything can happen in the Champions League, and we had to learn that when we lost to Al Ahly (in 2001)," he told Soccer Laduma. "But this time, it's Sundowns' tournament to lose, it's in their own hands. This is a very strong Sundowns team and I don't see why they can't go all the way."
Following their 1-0 victory over Zamalek last week, the 46-year-old went on to say that Sundowns' biggest strength is the way the team plays together as a unit.
"Sundowns are a very good side," he added. "The team is not just individuals, they play as a team and they like to track back in defence. The players always contribute wherever the team needs them to."
