Banyana Banyana have secured their place at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup after defeating Tunisia 1-0 to advance to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

Jermaine Seoposenwe recovered a from a minor sustained in the win over Botswana, while Thalea Smidt replaced Thembi Kgatlana, who will miss the rest of the tournament.
Banyana's preparations were also disrupted when by Covid-19, with an official and two players in quarantine.
Seoposenwe was straight back into thick of things as she opened the scoring for the South Africans in the 13th minute with her second goal of the tournament.
Tunisia, meanwhile, were on the back foot from the onset and struggled to get the ball off their South African counterparts.
With Matlou back in the side in place of Janine van Wyk, the Banyana defence remained resolute and barely gave the Tunisians a sight at goal in the latter stages of the firsts stanza.
Desiree Ellis' charges had a chance to extend their lead after the halftime break, but Noxolo Cesane could not capitilise and fired over the crossbar on 55 minutes.
Ellis responded with a double change for the final 30 minutes as Smidt and Nomvula Kgoale made way for Amogelang Motau and Melinda Kgadiete.
Despite claiming three wins in the group stages, Banyana have been guilty of not finishing off their chances which continued in the second half as Kgadiete volleyed over from close-range with 11 minutes left on the clock.
The missed chances did not come back to haunt Banyana, who held on for the win and advance to the semi-finals while also qualifying for their second World Cup.
