Banyana Banyana defeated Gabon 3-2 in the first leg of the 2016 Olympic Qualifier in Gabon on Saturday afternoon.
It was the home side who had the better start to the game, as they went ahead inside the opening 20 minutes from the penalty spot at the Augustin Monedan Stadium.
However, Vera Pauw's side managed to level matters in the 26th minute courtesy of a strike from America-based midfielder, Jermaine Seoposenwe.
It got better for the South Africans just over 10 minutes later, as Seoposenwe grabbed her second of the game.
Pauw was forced to make a change at the start of the second half, as Rhoda Mulaudzi replaced the injured Amanda Dlamini.
The hosts managed draw themselves level at the 70-minute mark, scoring from a set-piece after the Banyana defence failed to clear.
However, Banyana restored their lead not long after Gabon's goal, Sanah Mollo slotted home for the South African's third away goal in the tie.
The score remained the same at the end of 90 minutes and they head into the second leg with three away goals.
The second leg will take place next week at the Dobsonville Stadium, as they look move on to the next round of qualifying.
