Banyana Banyana claimed a 3-1 win over Egypt in an international friendly at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Desiree Ellis was put in charge of the South African women's team on interim basis, following the departure of Vera Pauw.
The home side were presented with a chance inside the opening stages, as Andisiwe Mcgoyi profited from Maga El Denerdash's error but she lost her balance an ended up firing wide.
Mgcoyi went close to handing the home side lead midway through the first half, as header forced El Denerdash into a fine save.
Banyana broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Linda Mothalo was brought down in the box. Mamello Makhabane stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out, 1-0.
The score remained 1-0 in favour of Banyana at the halftime break.
The Egyptians managed to level matters shortly after the break, courtesy of a strike from Rana Amr.
However, the South Africans restored their lead in the 72nd minute when Refiole Jane fired past El Denerdash, 2-1.
Ellis' charges managed add a third goal in stoppage time, as Jane turned provider to tee up Nogwanya, who slotted home Banyana's third.
