Banyana Banyana had a disappointing exit from the FIFA Women's World Cup, however, Desiree Ellis was given some kind words from Germany's head coach.
The South African Women's national team suffered a 4-0 loss to Germany in their final World Cup group stage encounter, having been unable to secure any points in the competition.

However, the Germany head coach, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg shared some uplifting words with Head Coach Ellis before their final clash on Monday.
"We were complimented even before the game by the German coach, when she said, she saw us at Cyprus, she said wow – the transformation with this team is amazing and she's got a lot of respect for the group because the ranking doesn't do us justice because we've come and if it was for the ranking it was a no contest - but we have come and we didn't get the result we should have maybe in the first game and the second game was just as tight," Ellis told SAFA.
"She also said that the respect that she showed us, she picked her best line-up and it showed how this team has grown and the effort today was second to none, putting their bodies on the crowd and giving their all," she added.
