The South African Football Association has revealed that Desiree Ellis will take over as interim coach of the South African senior women's team.
SAFA are currently searching for a new coach following the exit of Vera Pauw, who took Banyana to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where they crashed out in the Group Stages.
In issue 991 of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew revealed that Alexandra United coach Tracy Pepper was in the mix to potentially take up the job.
However, SAFA have revealed that Pauw's former assistant, Ellis, will take temporary charge of the squad until the search for a new coach is complete.
The news was confirmed by a tweet on SAFA's official account, although it was later deleted, along with the article on their official website.
