Desiree Ellis' troops got their campaign underway with a 2-2 draw against Finland on Tuesday afternoon.
The South Africans did not get off to the best of starts as they fell behind on seven minutes through Kim Yun-Mi's strike , before Ri Hyang-Sim doubled the lead six minutes later.
Banyana were able to come from behind on two occasions in the opening, but it was proving to be a big ask as Kim Yun-Mi fired past Kaylin Swart after a swift counter attack on 23 minutes to extend the lead.
The first-half rout continued when Wi Jong-Sim got in on the act with ten minutes left in the half to make it 4-0 to the Koreans.
Banyana did manage to pull a goal back shortly after the halftime break, with Lebohang Ramalepe finding the back of the net with a fine strike.
South Africa did well to restrict the Koreans in the second half, with Swart producing a good save to deny their Asian counterparts a fifth.
In the end, 4-1 was how the encounter ended as Banyana switch their attention to Monday's encounter against Czech Republic.
