Banyana's Thembi Kgatlana Won Big At The CAF Awards

Kgatlana, who plays for Houston Dash in the United States of America, put on a number of fine performances for Banyana over the course of 2018 and finished the African Women's Cup of Nations with a silver medal, a Golden Boot and a spot at the 2019 Women's World Cup in the bag.
As she stepped up to collect her award in Senegal, the Banyana star told the world, "I'm honoured and privileged to receive this award in this beautiful hall of legends," she said receiving her award.
"I would like to dedicate this award to all the women's players in South Africa who are about to start their career, and all the girls who want to become champions."
Kgatlana is the first South African to win the Women's Player of the Year award since Noko Matlou in 2009.
Thembi Kgatlana did her country proud as she stepped onto the stage not once, but twice, at the CAF Awards last night, completing a proud night for Banyana Banyana.
