Banyana Banyana Are Gearing Up To Face A World Giant

13 Players, 11 Months – The Amakhosi Exodus
Banyana jetted into America earlier in the week – after casing their votes in the South African election – and have been enjoying life on a training camp in California as Ellis looks to make any minor tweaks and improvements prior to their opening World Cup game against Spain next month.
Speaking from Santa Clara, the nation's captain, Janine van Wyk, told SAFA.net, "We know it's going to be one of the toughest matches we have played in a very long time. Obviously, all opponents that we've faced before have prepared us for this moment.
"We have faced the US once before, and we lost 1-0 in Chicago in 2016 just before the Olympic Games and I think it was a great test for us. Now, again, I think it's a great test just before we head to the World Cup. It's probably our last game before we get to France, and last training camp together, and we're looking forward to the match.

"It'll give us a great test to see where we're at as a team and see how far we've come."
The big encounter will take place at the 68,000-seater Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, with kick off 22h45 South African time - although they are not quite at full strength with Sweden-based, Leandra Smeda, as well as Linda Motlhalo and Thembi Kgatlana, who play in China, unavailable for this game due to their club commitments.
Desiree Ellis' Banyana Banyana have one final test before they get their maiden FIFA World Cup campaign underway, and it just happens to be against the best team in the world.
