Goals from Thulani Hlatshwayo and Thulani Serero handed Bafana their first win in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday afternoon.
Bafana currently sit top of Group D, one point ahead of the Lions of Teranga after two games played.
"I've got to celebrate this win. This is my second lease on life in football. I was all ready buried, the media had already bought a casket for me," Mashaba said after the game.
"We were not given a chance, especially against Senegal. I said it in the week when people said we hadn't beaten Senegal, and I asked did Senegal beat us? And no one could answer me.
"But playing against Senegal is not child's play, our boys showed grit. If the game was won by passes, Senegal would have beaten us by close to six, seven points hey."
