The South African Football Association has cleared up the speculation of whether or not coaches Owen da Gama and Thabo Senong's assistant jobs are safe at the national team.
After the South African national team's 2-1 triumph over Senegal in their second 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, SAFA confirmed the suspension of head coach Shakes Mashaba at the helm, which subsequently saw assistant coach, Da Gama step in and oversee the national team's bench.
It was subsequently reported and confirmed that Mashaba will be facing an internal DC hearing, in which his future at the helm of Bafana will be determined.

However, despite no official decision made about Mashaba's future, local reports have stated that, if Mashaba were to leave the helm of Bafana, coaches Da Gama and Senong will not be able to continue their role as the assistant coaches of the national team.
The Siya crew contacted SAFA's Head of Communications, Dominic Chimhavi, who confirmed that the reports are untrue.
"To me that is just some rumours circulating, I don't see how Shakes Mashaba's situation can impact other coaches. They're on their own contracts," Chimhavi told the Siya crew.
