Ronwen Williams has been likened to goalkeeping legend Andre Arendse as he continues to achieve greatness and enjoying form at the moment.
Williams returned from the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast as one of the stars for Bafana Bafana following his excellent performances as Mzansi reached the semi-finals of the competition.

The 32-year-old won the AFCON Goalkeeper of the Tournament award for his heroics which included his four saves in the penalty shootout in the quarter-final match against Cape Verde.
Mzansi's goalkeeping legend Innocent Mayoyo remembers how he worked with Williams as a youngster.
"In 2011, when I was part of the Amabineplaas team, we had Ronwen Williams as one of the goalkeepers in the squad. He was still very young but he was being integrated into the set-up. I remember we went to play in Palestine, and he did get a run despite being that young and was later substituted. He did very well. Our head coach was Simon Ngomane and we had gone there to play in the CHAN (African Championships) tournament. We lost in the quarter-finals in that tournament without a single player who was playing in the PSL in our team. We had boys from the Vodacom (ABC Motsepe) League. Humphrey Mlwane was the assistant coach and I was the second assistant coach and doubled up as goalkeeper coach," said Mayoyo, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

"If you remember in the early stages of his (Williams') Bafana career, he conceded five goals in one of the matches and a lot of noise was made about that. Today, which is 13 years after we first noticed his talent, he is the number one goalkeeper in Africa. I knew back then already that he was going to be one of the best goalkeepers in the country. That boy has worked with some of the top ex-goalkeepers in the country and top goalkeeper coaches and he learned a lot from them. I am talking about people like me, William Shongwe, Grant Johnson, Andre Arendse and Deshi Bhaktawer just to mention a few. He had been under proper hands in his development. He learnt a lot from the SuperSport United development and fortunately he is someone who has always taken his training very serious. He is so humble and he makes goalkeeping look easy and he's got the same qualities possessed by Andre Arendse," he said.
