Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi is convinced Given Msimango could have added value to the national team if he was selected for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Msimango was in the preliminary squad for AFCON and is currently in good form for Amakhosi, who have kept three clean sheets in a row going into their final match of 2023 against Sekhukhune United this afternoon.

The former TS Galaxy defender has made good progress since joining Amakhosi from the Rockets and was hoping his form was enough to earn him a spot in Hugo Broos' final squad for the competition set to be played in the Ivory Coast in January.
Unfortunately, Msimango didn't make the final South Africa squad which Broos named on Thursday. Nevertheless, Tsotetsi has been impressed with the form of Msimango since joining Chiefs and discusses his value, with his ability to build up from the back and to stay calm in most situations.
"Given Msimango is a quality defender. Playing for Chiefs comes with a lot of weight. He has been doing well and he had to adjust to life at Chiefs. He is improving and he is improving more under Cavin Johnson, which is why he was in the preliminary squad. I think he is one player who can add value to the national team," Tsotetsi said to the Siya crew.

"It's up to him to convince the coach that he is ready and that he can do the job on any given day. He has progressed a lot and that improvement can be seen in the national team."
