Orlando Pirates' Alfred Ndengane should have been considered for selection to Bafana Bafana's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to former South African youth international midfielder Junior Khanye.
Bafana's latest squad for their final 2019 Afcon qualifier to be played against Libya on March 24 was announced by head coach Stuart Baxter on Tuesday.

Ndengane, who is involved in the CAF Champions League with Bucs, should have been called up, according to Khanye.
"There are other players that I think the coach, Stuart Baxter, should have considered for selection. I'm talking about the Pirates guy, the one that joined them not long ago - Ndengane - should have been considered for a call-up. He has been doing well," said Khanye.

The former Maritzburg United player believes that Chiefs' Daniel Cardoso could have been sacrificed for the former Bloemfontein Celtic defender in Baxter's team.
"Look, I'm not convinced with Cardoso's selection to the Bafana Bafana squad. I still believe that Cardoso should first establish himself at Chiefs. I have my doubts about whether he has always been at his best at Chiefs. There have been games I would think of Mulomowandau Mathoho and wish that he played," added the ex-star.
