The South African Football Association will be faced with an interesting few days while anticipating the outcome of Shakes Mashaba's Arbitration and concluding their hunt for a new Bafana Bafana head coach.
SAFA confirmed on Friday, March 3, that the new head coach will be unveiled this week, however, as reported on Soccer Laduma this weekend, despite the football fraternity expecting Carlos Quieroz to be named as the new coach, a Siya source has since revealed that the Iranian FA are reluctant to release Quieroz from his contract, and therefore SAFA are forced to look at other candidates.

However, apart from Quieroz, Herve Renard appears to be the next man in line to take over the role and indications are that members in the association are keen on seeing the Frenchman lead Bafana forward, while Ruud Krol and Hugo Broos are also still in the running for the job.
On the other hand, former Bafana head coach Mashaba and his legal representatives are set to face Arbitration this week, as they look to continue with their argument of unfair dismissal and attempt to have the 66-year-old reinstated into the head coaching role.
As reported previously by the Siya crew, the dates for Mashaba's Arbitration is set for the March 7, 8 and 9.
"We will continue with our case to have Mashaba reinstated on March 7,8 and 9. The judge made it clear that SAFA can go ahead and appoint a new coach but it will be at their own risk, where if Mashaba is reinstated, they will sit with the problem," Mashaba's legal representative, Claudio Bollo told the Siya crew last month.
Now, it remains to be seen what the outcome will be regarding Mashaba's legal battle with SAFA, and whether or not the official ruling will disrupt the association's attempts at appointing a new head coach.
