Stuart Baxter has painted an even more vivid picture of what his Bafana Bafana charges experienced during their do-or-die Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Libya on Sunday night.
With a little over 14 000 or so fans crossing the border from Libya to Tunisia, where their national team has been forced to play their home matches because of a civil war in their own country, creating a hostile reception for Baxter and his men, Bafana nonetheless got the job done with a 2-1 win that sealed their qualification to this year's AFCON in Egypt.

Baxter, after arriving in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon, recounted to the media what it was like having it all to do at the Stade Taieb Mhiri.
"It was a very hostile environment – and I don't know if anybody could work out what they were chanting. But they were chanting 'Bafana, F*** you' and it was like 14 000 people, who were throwing bottles at the technical area," the coach recalled.

Percy Tau scored twice in the second half, with Libya pulling one back to give Bafana a scare, although the South Africans held on for the win.
"So I thought the players were nervous in the first 20 minutes. I didn't think we played as we wanted to play with the ball. We were waiting for the storm, we got it and weathered it. Once we changed a couple of things at half-time I thought we looked very good and the players were magnificent."
