vs Zaire (now DRC)

April 27, 1997

In a game where Doctor Khumalo was the star of the show, scoring the opener and setting up the late Phil Masinga for the second, Bafana beat then Zaire 2-1 to be well on their way to qualifying for the 1998 World Cup in France.

vs Sudan

September 5, 2014

New coach Shakes Mashaba began his tenure with the national team with this clinical victory that set the tone for Bafana's AFCON qualification, a 3-0 win to show true intent.

vs Congo

October 11, 2014

Mashaba continued his good run in the dugout. Bafana returned to Pointe Noire, a venue where they had been intimidated by soldiers with guns in the late 90s and lost, but were the bullies this time around with a 2-0 victory. 

vs Nigeria

June 10, 2017

No one expected this impressive 2-0 result. But SA registered their first official win over the Super Eagles in a qualifying match. It was Stuart Baxter's first game in charge in his second spell.
