
Bafana Bafana Have A Bit Of A Ball Problem

Bafana Bafana are back at training today after the players were given the day off on Thursday, but they won't be having any access to the official African Cup of Nations balls. Read: Mokotjo Reveals His Bafana Goal… New Umbro balls will be used at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt when the tournament gets underway later this month, and Stuart Baxter says that they were hoping to get to train with them in the build-up to their first game. However, despite attempts to get the balls over to South Africa when Bafana camp started earlier in the week, Baxter said that they had been told that they will only have access to the new equipment once they touch down in Cairo after their camp in Dubai. The coach refused to complain about the situation, though, and when asked by the media about the matter, replied, "The Umbro balls? Yeah, we've asked if we can get them here, but we can't apparently. We'll only get them when he land in Egypt, but it's ok. The ones we've got are round, they've got air in them, and they'll go in the back of the net if we hit it hard enough I suppose."
