Why Orlando Pirates must hold onto Mabasa.

Why Orlando Pirates must hold onto Mabasa.
Orlando Pirates have beefed up their squad as they look to return to the top of South African football. The Buccaneers have been among the busiest teams in the transfer market, signing the likes of Richard Ofori and Deon Hotto who have already played a few matches for the Soweto side. While the likes of Xola Mlambo, Justin Shonga and Luvoyo Memela have been allowed to leave and seek greener pastures elsewhere. Looking at the Bucs current squad, one can agree that they have a strong team that can challenge for every trophy on offer in the South African league. After finishing in the top three in the league at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, the Sea Robbers will also compete in the CAF Confederations Cup. Depth will be needed and the Mayfair based side cannot afford to depend or rely on one player like they did last season. Gabandinho Mhango was the club’s go to guy last campaign and carried the load of scoring goals all by himself. Tshegofatso Mabasa also contributed with a few goals in critical stages of the season. Scoring 6 goals from 6 starts is a clear indication that given a fair chance, the former Bloemfontein Celtic marksman can carry the Bucs. Mabasa can play a crucial role at the former African champions both domestically and in the CAF Confederations Cup if given a chance to prove his worth in the team. Despite signing a host of new players, Pirates cannot afford to lose the deadly forward. Comment, like and share.
