Varsity Football Produces Talented Themba Ndlovu

The Varsity Football competition has reached the stage where the men are separated from the boys. There are only two teams remaining and a derby is on the cards, as city rivals, UP-Tuks will face off against defending champions Tshwane University of Technology in the final on September 28.    Read: Ten-Man TUT Book Spot In Final   The star of the tournament has been Tshwane University of Technology striker Themba Ndlovu. The Mpumalanga-born player is the tournament's leading goalscorer with seven goals to his name. There is no doubt he would like to add more goals in the final to drive his team to back-to-back Varsity Football titles.   We run through Ndlovu's best strikes to remind all the Premier Soccer League scouts of what an unbelievable talent they are missing out on.   Hat–trick against UWC   It is always special when a player scores a hat-trick, but some are just better than others and Ndlovu's against 2015 champions UWC was something special.     The first goal was brilliant with Ndlovu controlling the ball on the left flank, before using his skill to beat the UWC left back, who was left sprawling out on the turf. Ndlovu then took the ball to the by-line before cutting inside with his right foot to beat the covering defender. Once a clear sight on goal was offered, he blasted the ball into the roof of the net.    Click here to check out the PSL fixtures   The second goal displayed Ndlovu's special dead ball skills. In the tournament opener, he rescued a point for TUT against finalists Tuks with a sublime free kick in the dying minutes and he repeated the magic against UWC. The other feature of the free kick was that it showcased Ndlovu's ability to use both feet as he curled in a beauty from outside the box with his left foot now.   The third goal was pure predatory instincts. He collected the ball inside the box and had just one touch before rifling the ball into the back of the net.    Special goal against UFH   Ndlovu scored a brace against strugglers, the University of Fort Hare, but for once it was not just the number of goals he scored but rather the quality. In what could easily be described as the goal of the competition, Ndlovu spun out of a challenge before whipping in a 35-metre strike that sailed over the goalkeeper into the back of the net.     UP-Tuks will play the Tshwane University of Technology in the Varsity Football final on 28 September.
