The sale of Ajax signal a demise to football development

The reports of the imminent sale of Ajax signal a severe blow to football development in our country.Ajax was built on key cornerstone of youth development, and took soccer development to the next level never achieved by any team before in the country. It was unlike South African soccer to have 95% of a starting line up of a PSL team comprise of very young players like Ajax did in the early 2000's.The same young team gave Pirates and Chiefs a run for their money. The two games that come to mind is Rothmas cup final where they gave Orlando Pirates a hiding and the league match in which Pienaar had Chiefs in his pockets.Who would forget Steven Pienaar, Shaun Oliver, Shaun Potgieter, Franlin Cale, Carlo Scott and many other of the young players Ajax promoted to the senior team.Since then we've never had a team that has so many young players of such young age competing in the PSL.If the team was to be sold out,it would signal the demise of football development in South Africa, especially since club owners are now concerned with quick success founded on the sale and purchase of tried and tested players.I just hope the reports aren't true, and that we will have Ajax Cape Town with us at least for the next 50 years.
