The most consistent performers from all 16 Absa Premiership clubs this season

The 2019/20 season served up its fair share of surprises, heartbreak, shocks and disappointments for some. Throughout the season, however, there have been some players who have been there every step of the way for their teams. In light of this, we check out the ever-present players from all 16 PSL teams.

They say a good team is built on a solid defence, this could not be more true than on this list. A bulk of the players who have featured most predominantly for their teams are either defenders or goalkeepers.

Pirates' New Signing: From R900k to R19M

Only two players in Ronwen Williams and Daniel Cardoso have managed to play every single minute of every single match for SuperSport United and Kaizer Chefs respectively.

For Cardoso, his 100% record ended in heartbreak when Amakhosi were beaten to the league title on the last day, despite leading the log standings for an incredible 28 weeks.

Meanwhile, for Williams, the SuperSport skipper has shown his durability for Kaitano Tembo's team this season, raising his hand for his second Goalkeeper of the Season award in succession. To add to his 100% record, the 28-year-old also managed to rack up 13 Absa Premiership clean sheets.

Only two attacking players have been the mainstays for their clubs this season. Ndumiso Mabena at 32, incredibly played 33 games for Bloemfontein Celtic this season. His 34th could lead his club to the coveted Nedbank Cup final on Saturday when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns.

Hunt: What I Want To Be Remembered For…

Meanwhile, joint Absa Premiership goal scorer Peter Shalulile ensured that his Highlands Park farewell ended in style after signing off with 19 goals in all competitions for the Tembisa outfit, who have been sold to Tim Sukazi and will be relocated and renamed to TS Galaxy.

The Namibian has been Owen Da Gama's go-to man this season and has featured in all of Highlands' 39 games played. The striker has since been scooped up by league champions Sundowns in a mammoth R16 million deal that includes Mothobi Mvala.
