Chelsea's newly reinforced squad face the first stern examination of their title credentials when they host Premier League champions Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Timo Werner and Kai Havertz made their debuts for Frank Lampard's side in the 3-1 victory over Brighton in the Blues' opening match of the season, with the former winning a penalty on the day.

As well as the German duo, Chelsea have also signed defenders Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr as well as winger Hakim Ziyech, although neither are expected to feature this afternoon.
Liverpool survived an opening-day scare with a 4-3 victory over Leeds, who came from behind thrice at Anfield last weekend.
Mohamed Salah grabbed a hat-trick on that occasion and the Reds will be boosted by the signing of midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich and Wolves forward Diogo Jota.
Liverpool did the Premier League double over Chelsea, including a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge last season, but it was the Blues who emerged victorious in their FA Cup fifth-round tie.
