In the month where football seasons traditionally start, August brings all sorts of different interest this year as we see some leagues end, some leagues resume and some cup tournaments come to their long-awaited conclusions. In a time where no fan can afford to miss out, here's a look at just some of the great upcoming fixtures out of many that you can watch live on SuperSport.

The first taste of South African football since lockdown will be a cup tie with Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits battling it out for a spot in the Nedbank Cup final. For Masandawana, they have to win if they are to keep their hopes of a domestic treble alive. For the Clever Boys, the tournament offers a chance to sign off their final season with silverware after the club sold its top-flight status to the Limpopo-based club Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

It's a blockbuster resumption to the Absa Premiership when Sundowns take on Pirates at Dobsonville Stadium. For Masandawana, a win will put them one point behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs. For Pirates, victory would complete a league double against Sundowns for the first time since the 2010/11 season and move them up to third.

Table-topping Chiefs will resume their quest for a first league title in five years with a testing midweek clash against Bidvest Wits. When it comes to their last five meetings in all competitions, the Clever Boys have only lost once, but that defeat did come the last time these two teams met way back in January last year.

It's got "title decider" written all over it when Kaizer Chiefs take on Mamelodi Sundowns near the end of a jam-packed month of Absa Premiership action. Amakhosi made a huge statement earlier in the season with a 2-0 win against Masandawana with Samir Nurkovic grabbing a brace. Sundowns will relish the opportunity to set the record straight as they look to keep their dream alive of a third successive Absa Premiership title.
