Venue: Vicente Calderon
Barcelona clinched the Spanish La Liga title after defeating Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday evening.
The home side nearly went ahead in the eighth minute, as Giminez's glancing header forced Claudio Bravio into a sublime save.
Barcelona created an opening of their own in the 13th minute when Pedro Rodriguez picked out Lionel Messi but the Argentine could only steer his header straight at Jan Oblak.
Luis Enrique's men went even closer after the 30-minute mark when Messi's free-kick from a tight angle shaved the crossbar, with Oblak well beaten.
Oblak was called into action just before the halftime break, as the Atletico shot-stopper pulled off a fine save to keep out Dani Alves' stinging effort from distance.
Barcelona continued to dominate after the break, as they looked for the opening goal and they nearly went close in the 51st minute when Gerard Pique fired an effort just wide of the upright.
The home side were presented with an opportunity to opening the scoring 10 minutes after the halftime break, but Bravo was on hand to thwart Fernando Torres from close range.
Barcelona eventually broke the deadlock in the 65th minute when Messi played a neat one-two with Pedro, before drilling the ball into the bottom corner.
The lead could have been doubled after the 70th minute but poor finishing and decision making from Neymar kept the deficit at one.
Luis Enrique's side managed to see out the closing stages, as Bravo pulled off another fine save in stoppage time to ensure Barcelona clinch the league title.
