Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has come out in defence of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea amid claims the shot-stopper is involved in a sex scandal.
Chelsea Star To Follow Mourinho To Man Utd?
The Red Devils No. 1 has been implicated in a sexual abuse case alongside former Spain teammate Iker Muniain, who is alleged to have had slept with the woman in 2012, while De Gea is alleged to have arranged the meeting.
The goalkeeper, who is on duty with Spain at Euro 2016, is expected to start his national team's first game of the tournament on Monday afternoon, and Ramos has declared his support for his teammate.
"It is unpleasant news to receive, but obviously when it affects a teammate he needs the support from the entire squad, and we have to give him that," Ramos told reporters, as quoted by Marca.
The Los Blancos captain also insisted that De Gea's off-field situation has not affected the team.
"We haven't needed to unite more due to the controversy because we have always been a great group," he added.
"There has always been a great atmosphere here, and we all have the same objectives."
